Born from a love of all things vintage, Kate’s millinery career has spanned over 25 years.  She has created beautifully handcrafted hats, using age-old millinery techniques and the finest materials, trimming with such treasures as antique beaded medallions, velvet fruit and silk neckties.

Arriving in Chicago in 1995, she was one of the founding members of the Millinery Arts Alliance, a group of local milliners working together to promote the vanishing art of couture millinery.  Kate experienced that same sense of camaraderie and support at Leigh Deleonardo’s shop, Made To Fit, and joined the many talented designers there the following year.

Kate is excited to introduce etcetera, her new line of handmade accessories.  Her current collection includes casual cashmere hats and gloves, and scarves of vintage kimono silk.

“I’m inspired to marry the old and the new, comfort and beauty, to create something unique - with a nod to the past, but useful for our modern lives.”
